ISP Estonia OÜ develops, finances, installs and operates BESS (battery energy storage systems) and VPP (virtual power plant) projects — from 150 kW to utility scale — across Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. Turn your grid connection into a passive income stream with zero capital investment.
ISP Estonia OÜ specialises in the development, financing, deployment and operation of BESS and VPP projects across Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. We handle everything — hardware, installation, grid compliance, market operations — and share the revenue with you.
Containerised LFP lithium-ion batteries from 150 kW to 1 MW. Bidirectional, modular, grid-ready in 4–8 weeks — the ideal starting point for industrial and commercial sites.
Aggregated distributed assets operated as a coordinated VPP across FCR-D, FCR-N, aFRR and mFRR markets via our Elering BSP licence. Suitable for existing consumer connections from 500 kW.
Buy electricity at low prices on the Nord Pool day-ahead and intraday market, discharge at peak — fully automated price spread exploitation with no manual intervention.
Peak shaving, reactive power compensation and frequency response — generating revenue from every available market while reducing your own grid costs.
Whether you have a 150 kW commercial connection or a multi-megawatt industrial site, ISP Energy has a fully financed solution for your capacity. Every project is assessed, designed and operated by our team — at zero cost to you.

Our containerised BESS units are designed for rapid deployment at industrial facilities, warehouses, agricultural properties and commercial buildings across Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.
Containerised and cabinet BESS units from 500 kW to 1 MW — real equipment deployed at sites across Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.

Ready for FCR-N and demand response aggregation

Compact installation, minimal footprint

Plug-in connection to your existing switchboard

Fast on-site commissioning

Real-time monitoring and dispatch
A virtual power plant (VPP) is a digital platform that aggregates and controls distributed flexible energy assets — BESS units, industrial loads, generators and data centres. ISP Estonia OÜ operates VPP solutions from 500 kW.
Aggregates multiple flexible resources under a single control system, enabling market participation with bids from as low as 0.1–1 MW.
Receives activation signals from Elering and automatically adjusts load or generation within seconds.
Balances supply and demand in real time across the entire portfolio, maximising revenue.
Provides contracted reserve capacity (FCR, aFRR, mFRR) and activates balancing energy on demand.
Under the Electricity Market Act (RT I, 2003, 25, 153 — last amended 2023), independent aggregation is permitted in Estonia. ISP Estonia OÜ holds a full BSP licence under Elering.
Estonia leads the Baltic states in regulatory openness, with Latvia and Lithuania following closely. mFRR opens to independent aggregators in 2026.
The highest-priced Baltic balancing product. Hourly clearing. Min. bid 1 MW.
Continuous frequency regulation ±0.1 Hz. Daily clearing. Min. bid 0.1 MW.
Automatic frequency restoration reserve. Min. bid 0.1 MW.
Expected to open in 2026. Min. bid ~1 MW.
| Market | Description | Clearing | Revenue model | Min. bid | Status |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|

| FCR-D Down | Disturbance reserve, downward activation | Hourly | Capacity + energy | 1 MW | Active |
| FCR-N | Normal frequency regulation ±0.1 Hz | Daily | Capacity only | 0,1 MW | Active |
| aFRR | Automatic frequency restoration reserve | Daily | Capacity + activation | 0,1 MW | Expanding |
| mFRR | Manual frequency restoration — new market | Daily | Capacity + activation | ~1 MW | 2026 |
| Nord Pool DA | Day-ahead energy arbitrage | Daily D-1 | Price spread exploitation | — | Active |
A smooth 5-step process — from site assessment to your first monthly payment.
Free assessment of your grid connection and revenue potential.
A simple partnership agreement. ISP Energy manages permitting and engineering.
We procure and commission the unit within 4–8 weeks.
Your unit joins the VPP, trading on FCR, aFRR and mFRR markets.
Monthly payments — 50% of net profit.
Not every site needs a full battery system. Flexible industrial loads can also participate in balancing markets.
A full bidirectional battery system — can both charge from and export to the grid. Required for FCR-D, energy arbitrage and maximum revenue potential. ISP Energy finances 100% of CAPEX.
Factories, data centres, logistics centres and large commercial consumers can participate in FCR-N markets using existing controllable loads — no battery required.
To provide a binding commercial proposal, we need a few key details about your site. The site assessment is always free of charge.
Revenue depends on your unit size and current Baltic FCR market conditions. Your 50% share is paid monthly after deducting O&M, grid fees and insurance.
